    Couldn't join any servers (would bring me back to the menu every time I tried to connect). Opened Junkie's Client, let it update itself + restart. Logged in, downloaded game update. Logged in again, patched. Clicked play. Works perfect again :)

    Thank you. This helped me. The other day CS:GO was working fine, but today I was having trouble joining a game, so I quit CS:GO and started it again, but then I ran into the problem where I would try to start the game and all I would see was a black screen. I deleted the files mentioned in the video, checked verify all, clicked install/update, it downloaded ~30 megabytes, then I logged in again and patched. Started it up and it's working perfect again.
