Fix the need steam problem: if you have steam client uninstall it. After uninstall: 1. Close everything. 2. Open regedit and find all keys that contain "Steam" in it. 3. Delete them one by one. 4. Restart your PC. If you have done this steps download steam an install it... dont log in to steam. Next: 5. Delete /csgo/bin/client.dll 6. Run Junkies Client and click Install / Update with Verify All option checked. 7. When that finishes click Patch. 8. Make shortcut. This helps me to fix the problem with "this game need steam" but not the black screen.... i will try to fix this too and post it here if its work... If you dont have steam client install it and do steps 5-8. Now it fixed all my Problems with steam and black screen ;) i hope this helps you too do the steps after launching cs go wait its take 15-30 sec and you are ingame :) sry for my bad english :)

I have the same problem... Black Screen and after 10 sec. the Message This game requires steam.... i have already tried the reg fixes and the other instuctions but nothing... I use Windows 8.
