Posted June 19, 201311 yr comment_11130 I think it would be much faster if the downloads commenced via peer-to-peer protocols. This would help with server costs and render the queue useless. I have no idea how to implement this, however, I have seen it done with big games such as World of Warcraft and Lord of the Rings Online with good results. I think that it could possibly be looked into for the junkies client.

It uses the steam server to download and update the game and steam uses HTTP . The patch is downloaded through planetcss but P2P will be useless since it generates the client from the steam servers and not through planetcss and therefore queue will be required.
