You are doing something wrong. I tested update 49 and there is no crash. I can also find over 900 servers.

Crashing for me to. Tried fresh install without update and the game starts. After update

When the main screen appears the game crashes . The main menu and console window

Don’t even appear.

Windows 7 64 bit sp1, full up to date. Latest Nvidia drivers.

OMG I really don't know what could be the cause. I tried this on 3 different PCs and I don't have crashes.

Is there any error message when crashing? Can you post debug and tell me what module is causing the problem?

I don't understand why it is crashing on some PCs and works on another.

I'm using win7 ultimate 64bit. I never have any crashes. However still there's no server found in the Internet tab. There're few servers show in the Friends tab.

Update 49 is basically the same as update 47 & 48 for me.

Disable any firewall or antivirus.

I just can give you one tip to the crashes,the new Update works fine,just keep your PC clean,dont install programms and files that you dont know.

 

Download a Antivirus check your PC or make a Backup(Means reinstall Windows.)

the worst problem about it is that update works for 2 days without problem ... and now it is back ... ach :(

Yep..so long waiting for patch 49...worked a couple of days and now back to crashes!.. i just hope its not going to take another month to fix this... :-(

I was able to play great now and now I'm crashing

Yeah... it crashed on mine, too.

Fresh install CSS + Update 49.

 

Server Browser works, but randomly crash. :(

Win 7 x64 SP1.

 

I'll try your latest fix (steamclient.dll), SmartPlay. But I hope this issue will be resolved soon.

Because you said, this workaround will broke Server Browser. And that's important, too :D
