Are there any 'special'or specific files that were added in the latest updates that might be causing this?

Like I said above, the v58(the base version I downloaded here) works fine for me but patch 48-52 do not. They just crash without any error messages. I hope patch 53 will finally fix this, because not only does the nonsteam version have this problem, but also the legit steam version 70 of the game(like i tested some weeks ago with a cracked version of steam)

 

I have answered this many times. The problem is in the revolution emulator. They changed something so it is not compatible with every PC.

Lets hope they'll fix that in the new update.

The program hl2.exe has stopped working.

 

I removed the addons folder and continue the same. What to do?

i can't start the game with update 52 says that hl2 stopped work

Smartplay sayd that is a problem with rev. emulator so it's not compatible for all of us.For exemple,my game is working.The patch 53 hasn't appeared because they're working for a new emulator.With patch 53 I think all of you will can play CS:S.Now we need to wait.

can you please upload from a different mirror ? IDM is not working properly for this file

It appears that we are going to be UNABLE to play our beloved and adictive game ALL THIS LONG WEEKEND due to patch 53 NOT being ready yet.If we all people send ONE DOLLAR each to the guys making the patches i bet we'd have the patches in NO TIME everytime... :unsure:

For this update, they want everybody to be able to play. A lot of people are having compatiblity problems of unknown origin with their Windows System and the Revolution Emulator that CSS is running on. I visited the Rev Emu forums and it was said that the Rev Emu update was finished. Now SmartPlay only needs to do his work and we'll get the update. Be patient please, he's just a human.

Just wait for Smart do update, it should be released today.

Kiedyś takich problemów z css nie było dziś jednak problemów wiele ;/ patcha nadal nie ma , ja poczekam jeszcze dziś i jak nie będzie to jednak zrezygnuję z tej gry , wydałbym te 40 zł na tą grę oryginalną ale jednak szkoda mi pieniędzy na takie gówno .

trzeba czekac :) ale niby ma juz nie byc wiecej update'ow do tej gry, bo beda robic cs;go wiec jakas nadzeja jest :-)

VeQu, powinien dziś być, nowe RevEmu już jest, teraz tylko Smart doda go do gry i potestuje kilka minut. ;)
