I've got a big problem:I have 2 computers, a laptop with Win-Vista, and a desktop with Win-XP I installed the path 51 in both of them, on vista, everything goes well, but on XP, i've got random anoying crashes! Mean, i launche, i enter a server (other than junkies mega server*), i play a variable amount of time (from 3seconds, to 15min), and the game exits, just like that, no error message, no hl2.exe has been stoped, just exits. I don't know if i am the only one in this case, or if there is some solution. Help!!! Thanks (*): i have this problem only on other servers than Junkies' one (the servers in the friends menu)

Thanks (*): i have this problem only on other servers than Junkies' one (the servers in the friends menu) Well it might be that the other servers are using some specific plugin that causes your game to crash.Also There is known un-compatibility between the emulator and Windows version older then win7.I must admit that the last few rev-emu releases are garbage and there are lots of crashing reports.

Yes, I've got the same issue with an equivalent configuration (Windows 7 x64 / AMD Radeon mobility -for laptop). Ok, let me describe the steps and chose the one you'd like to debug. If you think the issue is coming from your graphic card (after updating to the latest driver or because the screen is messing up a bit...):1- Download Driver Sweeper. It's a freeware available here: http://phyxion.net/item/driver-sweeper-320.html It will erase all leftover driver in your computer.2- Find the latest driver available for your graphic card (AMD / ATI eg.) but go directly onto the manufacturer website (Toshiba, Dell, etc.) because for laptops, sometimes the drivers you found on AMD or nVidia are specifically made for PC Desktop only... watch out!3- Try to launch the game with normal settings. If it doesn't work, try with these parameters: -game cstrike -console -high -dxlevel81 -freq60 -steam -appid 240 (to force css to run in priority mode, with low directX level and average frequency... should be around 50 or 60 depending of your configuration)Then, try to put again -game cstrike -console -high -dxlevel95 -freq60 -steam -appid 240 to enable again directX 9 (CSS supports up to directX 9.5... but after, it may bug!) Ok, if you think it's not a graphical issue, try to delete the files "steamclient.dll" and "filesystem_steam.dll" found in your directory : \Counter-Strike source\bin. February 21, 201213 yr comment_2567 i got crash too. my solution is: reinstall patch 50 and go to cstrike folder -> steam.inf -> in PatchVersion line, change PatchVersion=1.0.0.69->PatchVersion=1.0.0.70 -> enjoy the game :-bd

That is because you are running legit steam service in background. If you stop that legit steam service and run the game without steam, then the rev-emu (emulator) will take place and it might crash if it is not something compatible with your PC.
February 21, 201213 yr comment_2571 pretty nice news. and what about v51 crashes for win 7 x64 users?I got to stick on v49 update till you fix the v51 crashes.Hopefully the new SPE (Source Python Extension) plugin works with it.
